Willingdon Church Players

Willingdon Church Players Pantomime 2018

Against all the odds, with most of the cast and crew being struck down by flu, coughs, colds and other bugs, our 50th panto, ‘Cinderella’, was another resounding success, playing to full houses every night. Big, BIG thanks to our wonderful script writer and director, Alex, who (due to our original Cinderella becoming ill) also stepped into the roll. A special thank you to Lucy for filling in as Cinderella at the Saturday matinee. All problems were, thankfully, overcome.

All credit to Val for the wonderful costumes,  to Peter, our sound engineer and John and his team for the brilliant sets and the arduous moving of them between scenes. Thank you, Iona, for opening all our shows and to pianist Matt. To David, Iona and Olaf for producing our props, with special mention to Paul and Melissa for the fabulous coach.

Thank you to all the cast for their dedication and hard work and especially to our youngsters, who really pulled out all the stops for every performance and are a credit to their families.

Like the Oscars, thank you too to all those regular and dedicated people who support us by serving refreshments, selling raffle tickets and setting out the seating. And the wonderful army of people who cleared up on Saturday night.

Watch this space for news of next year, but...............if this pantomime is to continue we really do need younger people coming forward to take on some of the work. If you don’t want to ‘tread the boards’ there are so many other important jobs to do and it would be great to have new blood, ideas and energy. Please, please get in touch.
