Armistice 100
Looking back to 2018 ARMISTICE 100 To mark the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day there was a display "Willingdon Remembers" with stories and photographs of Willingdon during the war years and of the men commemorated on the memorial. In addition on the war memorial is a file containing information and photographs about the life and military service of every man commemorated on the WW1 memorial. BELL RINGING St Mary's bell ringers joined in the National Commemoration of 11th November for "Ringing Remembers" at 12.30pm and for "Battle's Over" at 7.05pm. BEACON A Beacon arranged by Willingdon and Jevington Parish Council was lit on the downs above the village at 7.00pm forming part of the National Chain of Beacons. |
