FSW

Family Support Work

FSW Easter Walk:

Many thanks to everyone who sponsored me on the Easter Monday walk.  The weather was very wet with slippery conditions underfoot but for Murphy, my black labrador, the conditions were perfect and even called for the occasional dip when we came across newly formed pools and full ditches.  The sum raised by the walk is not yet available but you contributed £190 to the eventual total, so many thanks for your generosity.

Open Garden:

7th July, 2 - 5pm.  The Long House, West Dean, entrance £5 in aid of FSW. Whilst in West Dean, why not visit All Saints Church which is the most ancient in the Cuckmere Valley.  It has an unusual squat gabled spire and inside it has that special feeling of stillness and the countless prayers of past worshippers.  The beautiful Old Parsonage next to the church is the oldest priest's house in England still in occupation.

Food Box:

Please don't forget the food box at the back of church.  At the moment we are especially asking for tinned meat (tinned pies, ham, etc), tinned tuna, pasta sauces and tinned vegetables, as well as the usual dried staples such as tea, rice, pasta and breakfast cereals, but all non-perishable foods are very welcome.

Did you know?  FSW offers free, confidential, emotional and practicalsupport to parents, carers and their children living in Sussex, including any adult with long-term responsibility for a child age 0-18 living in the same household. It can take a referral from anyone who identifies a need within a family including individuals and self referrals, educational and social welfare professionals, churches, etc.

Many thanks for your continued support
